Properties of Special Polypropylene Fiber Grade Materials/Propylene-ethylene Copolymer Blends

Abstract Special propylene-ethylene copolymer (PEC) and polypropylene (PP) fiber grade materials were blended through the melt-compounding method to prepare PP/PEC blends in varying proportions. Subsequently, further analysis was carried out on crystallinity, dispersibility, mechanical properties flexibility of blends. The results haven shown that PEC is uniformly dispersed PP matrix, whereas size particle relatively smaller. Moreover, as content increases, crystallization temperature ( T cp ) would experience increases accordingly. In addition, Young’s modulus tensile strength decreases with evident impact strength. Last but not least, softness a certain extent addition PEC.
